I am due to move in the next two-three weeks. As advised by other experts I have now missed two DMP payments to try and save for my BR. I havent had the guts or time to make that call to my DMP and utter the sentence ' I am going to declare myself bankrupt, so they have rung me a few times, but been very nice really?! Had few messages just asking when Ill be making payments and if they can help etc...which makes me feel pretty guilty. Since I am now moving, should I try and gather enough courage and tell my DMP and also say I am moving and will have a new address??
Do I have to tell them my new address...I would so wish for my new home to be 'free' from anything to do with my BR experience....probably sounds a bit daft!? I should be able to go to court first week Aug or at the latest after payday end August.
I am just worried about my creditors coming to my new home etc...!?
Creditors won't come to your home so you needn't worry there. Some debt collection agencies threaten to come and visit you - 2 did with me but they didn't turn up.
You should definitely tell your DMP company that you are declaring BR. I don't know how it works with a DMP but you cannot declare BR if your IVA hasn't officially failed so you should check whether this is the case with a DMP. You can do this when you call the DMP company (hint, hint).
If you are moving then you should also tell your DMP company but only once you have moved to ensure they have your contact details.
The address that goes on your BR form is the one that you are living in when you are declared BR so if this is your new address then this will appear. If you have taken out credit at other addresses then these will also appear in your BR. I move quite a bit and 2 other addresses where I took credit out also appear on my BR certificate/Insolvency Register.
