Well, that's it, triple checked and double checked again all of our paperwork...fingers crossed we have everything so that tomorrow can go as smoothly as possible..this time tomorrow we'll be debt free bar our mortgage hopefully . Very nervous about what will happen tomorrow at court...not sure what to expect..though get the impression Nottm are pretty tough. Got all the IVA failure paperwork sorted eventually thanks to our brilliant IVA IP.

Thanks again for everyone's advice.....glass of wine time now I think.

xx

Well..........we've done it. It wasn't half as bad as we thought it would be...the worst bit was sitting in the car park waiting for the court to open. There were about 8 of us and we all stayed to congratulate each other because there were no hiccups with our paperwork, so we all got our bankruptcy numbers.........one of the couples like us had a failed IVA..their document was different to ours and the clerk commented that they had never seen one like that before... it was still accepted phew!. After the last stressful few days, we decided to go to the cinema this afternoon...and MISSED the call from the OR..typical..I'm assuming she was ringing to arranged a date for the interview as they took all our paperwork..inc copies. They said they'd be sending us one of the copies back thru the post..hope so as thought one copy was for us to take away in readiness for interview....something else to worry about lol.

Normally the OR or their assistant calls up after you are declared BR just to make sure that they have your details correct i.e. name, address, any previous addresses, etc. I presume this is to ensure that the correct details end up on the Insolvency Register and in the London Gazette.

I had a call from the OR a few days after declaring BR and we arranged a date for the interview then but this can vary depending upon the OR's office and how busy they are.

Have a search for yourself on the Insolvency Register tomorrow and it should now show you as being BR - http://www.insolvency.gov.uk/eiir/ and then check the London Gazette on Friday/Saturday and you should be there as well - http://www.london-gazette.co.uk/

Congratulations on becoming BR and famous like the rest of us

Thanks getting our of debt..I did wonder why they were ringing so quickly. Will ring them tomorrow so they can check everything... Will check the gazette and the register..we are on it with the IVA at the moment. Did ask the clerk if we would be in the local paper..they didn't think they printed them locally anymore..phew..but will double check with OR.......here's to stage 2:-)
