I ran away from various debts which were accrued in the UK about 4 years ago. How do I check what my credit status is? Also if I return to the UK to work is there anyway that my earnings would be embargoed?
Get a report from one of the credit scoring agencies - Equifax, Experian or Call Credit to see if there are any adverse entries against you. You can arrange this on-line these days.
Any creditor is entitled to apply for an attachment of earnings order against you, so you cannot rule that out.
