hi all, me and my wife went br on 16th march this year and had our or interview 2 weeks later over the phone, he said at the time that he would be sending out another i+e form to fill out and also that i would need to send him details for the car (insurance doc's etc)the last we heard was about 6 weeks ago when we recieved a letter stating we would be able to keep the car...apart from that we have heard nothing in 5 months! we were 50/50 as to wether we would get an ipa, although the or would have had to get our outgoings down by around £150/£250 to do so.....dont really want to ring them and tempt fate, could it be that my discharge date just comes around without hearing from them again?

no news is good news, they don't usually send a letter if you are not getting an IPA, the case is prob just sitting there waiting for the discharge procedure at which time you will fill in another income/expenditure sheet

Personally I would leave it be and not contact them, if you do, it may cause your case to be looked at again and an IPA sought

If you just leave it and get to Automatic Discharge time, I don't think they will send another I&E out, you will just be discharged automatically, it is just if you were going to get early discharge they would send another I&E form out

If, however they have sent you other documents to fill in or letters and it has gone missing in the post, and you havent contacted them the OR can delay discharge due to non-compliance.

I would contact the OR clerk just for an update.

Best of luck

I agree with Stu.

Check with the OR's office, just to make sure what is going on.

It will be a weight off your mind and your're not likely to receive anything unexpected through the post.

I think it is always best to keep them in the loop if things change.

No nasty surprises are likely that way.

we went BR on march 3rd, and the OR hasn't contacted us since sending our exemptions for cars automatically. I rang last week to ask about early discharge because we're having to move, and he sent our EDREV out immediately. so th long gap with no contact is normal.

(EDREV received and returned at exactly 24 weeks)

so you got an early discharge sparkle? we are actually due to move house on the 14th september, the rent is exactly the same, you think its worth ringing them and enquiring about an early discharge? is this not being a bit pushy??

I would give them a ring - it might help.

We're waiting now, they said it'd be 5 weeks absolute minimum from them receiving the form back. Personally I dont see any harm in asking, worst comes to worst, they say no, right?

Exactly - they can only say no.

It may be that they have a backlog at the moment.

Personally I wouldn't contact the OR unless it was regarding a change in circumstances, or a problem they need to be aware of. I didn't see any point in reminding them that I existed as I was hoping they'd forgotten me!

I was also told not to hassle the OR about ED as it made them less likely to give it to you. No idea if it's true or not but I didn't want to take the chance, and to be honest it's not the end of the world if you're BR for 12 months.

Tomorrow is a mystery, yesterday is history, today is the present, a gift to make the most of.

I suppose that is right Skippy.

Your credit record will be shot anyway. If you have an IPA it won't make any difference to it.

They can only say no, but perhaps it could be better to let sleeping dogs lie for the sake of a few months.
