Have a copy of the paperwork infront of you.
perhaps even mark the sections that they are going to review so you can find them easily:-
Secured & unsecured debts ( particularly when you took the debt out and what you spent the money on)
Income & exoenditure ( have reasons for costs such as petrol / food etc)
i.e. petrol seems high? Well I travel to work 40 miles each way that is 400 miles per week and my car does 35 mpg therefore I use X plus trips to supermarket.
Food seems high? I have a special diet, the price of food has risen several times over the last year as we know etc.
You just need to know what your reasons are ( don't use mine)
Have a glass of water with you plus a note pad & 2 pens.
If you haven't got the info or don't know say so and tell them that you will check and get back to them.
Good luck

Hi all - well the phone call took an hour - with a very nice yet thorough examiner. Went through everything on the form in detail and asked questions to establish the cause of my debt. Was hard to just answer the question asked and not waffle but I did it! She quizzed me a lot about the car I drive - its my husbands (in his name and insurance) trying to see if it really was mine I think. Said it was very definately his. She mentioned the value being over £1500 too (its £1800) something about buying interest if necessary but she saw it was essential for me to get to work. I didn't list it as mine so a bit worried about that. Other than that it was ok. She was very keen to know why IVA failed and the fact I had offered two lump sums that were declined. Looks like I won't be getting an IPA - thats good news. Will hear from them soon if they want anything clarifying and in a week or so once her report goes to my creditors and assistant receiver. My head was buzzing last night - hope the news is good!

Well done for holding your own and dealing with this last bit in a dignified way.
Good that they seem to agree with the fact that you have insufficient disposable income for an IPA - but strange that your IVA company managed to calculate sufficient for a contribution.
Well done.
Now its over please don't leave the forum as it would be great to have your feedback.

Hi
I should never have agreed to the IVA - I really should have gone BR from the outset - but when someone offers you a payment of £355 a month when you are trying to pay out twice that to creditors it seemed a lifeline. The payments then shot up to £579 once the creditors met and by then I was signed up and there was no escape. All my husbands outgoings were ignored and no matter what I did I couldn't get my IVA supervisor to review the payments - even when the CSA payments doubled shortly after the IVA started. Nightmare! Anyway at least now I am getting sorted. What do you think about the car? Its my husbands car I use and without it I can't get to work - do you think they will make him buy the interest back in it? Sorry was a bit bamboozled by this bit! I would love to stay on the fourm and contribute where I can. Thank you again for all your support

If the car belongs to your husband, then it does not form part of the bankruptcy estate and the OR has not claim over it.

Phew.....there's always something for me to panic about!!! It has been in my husbands name from the day we got it, insurance everything. When she started talking about it being over value at £1800 and buying back interest I got bamboozled! I did tell her it was definately my husbands even if I do drive it some days. I listed it on my SOA as a car I have access to not one I own. So it's safe?? Phew!
