i am currently filling out forms for bankruptcy i have been through an iva but that failed after increase in utility bills etc. my only bank account is with the cooprative bank where i have no overdraft and no cheque book this account is easy to manage as my wages go in also the three childrens child benefit and childrens tax credit all the bills are paid by direct debit. i am very very concerned and very very stressed as i believe the account will be frozen my wife and i are both being treated for depression we are at our whits end now. if we talk to the bank before submiting the bankruptcy forms and the to the official reciever after the hearing will our circomstances be taken into consideration and the bank account be left for normal use?

hi

is it an account called a CASHMINDER account?

if so then it should be fine unless you live in the brighton area. The or there prefers all accounts to be closed so you would need to re apply afterwards.

The key thing for you to plan in when you actually go Br .

Probably best to do it 5 days after pay day and when the benefits are deposited. you can then make all the payments prior to br. If the account is closed you will have 3 weeks to arrange an alternative before your next income is received
