Would just like to thank everyone on this forum for all the help that they have given. A few months ago, I was a nervous wreck, who daren't open the door for fear of bailiffs and daren't open any post for fear of nasty letters. Like many others on here, i really was at my wits end and didn't know which way to turn. But I took the bull by the horns and decided to go bankrupt. This I was absolutely dreading, but on the day the court staff were very courteous and I was only in the court for less than half an hour. It really was not as bad as I was expecting. I had contact with my OR and received a letter saying I would be having a telephone interview. Again, absolute dread, I was expecting the grilling of a lifetime. That day was yesterday and to be honest it wasn't nearly as bad as I was anticipating. The OR I dealt with was extremely pleasant (quite cheery actually), very professional and generally a very genuine guy. The interview lasted just under an hour, where he explained he would not be interested in my car, nor my works pension and after going through I&E he said I didn't have enough spare for an IPA/IPO (which was a huge relief) but he would be going for a NT code and collecting this money (which I was expecting. Anyway after an hour he said thank you very much and said that I shouldn't expect to hear from him again other than a bit of correspondence. I was genuinely shocked as my debt is quite high and thought I would have to account for every penny.
To summarise I would like to thank the people on this forum who have answered many of my questions over the last few months and have guided me through a very difficult part of my life, their help has been amazing and the work they do is superb. For anyone who is just starting down the path of bankruptcy, all I can say is it is not as bad as you think, your life will not end and the chances are your quality of life may well be improved.
Good luck

That's good news gdc, the OR's interview was the most nerve-wracking part of the whole process for me.

You should receive a note confirming the car is exempt from your BR within the next couple of weeks and then notification about the NT code and, with a bit of luck, maybe notification of ED a few months down the road.
