Hi there,
On 16th Sept 2008 I was declared bankrupt, the receiver said at the time of my interview that he was going to be looking into extending my bankruptcy longer than the 12 months.
Tomorrow is one year on and apart from an updated I & E and then letter from the trustee releasing himself from my case both in March - i have not heard anything at all. Is there a way (other than ringing the receiver) that i can check i am discharged?

Hi Debby,

Have you spoken to anyone in the OR`s office?

Have a look tomorrow on the Insolvency website to see what the search against your name says - you may have a nice surprise - I hope so

Good luck and post back to let us know, Richard

Thanks Richard,
I haven't spoken to OR's office (to be honest i had such a bad experience when being interviewed i never want to speak to him again) i will check the register tomoz - am i right in thinking that after tomorrows date the OR cannot then apply to court to extend - i dont want credit just to know this is finally over once and for all. Debby x

If you havent been informed of anything yet then they will not be extending the bankruptcy or applying for a further restriction, there simply is not enough time left

Hi Debby,

Well, its the 16th... I assume that it is good news by what you had said? I certainly hope so - go on, look at your name on the register - is it now "discharged"?

Good luck to you for a debt free life from now on.

Richard, x
