Hi
I am just wondering if I were to open a co op or barclays account before my bankruptcy would either of these be likely to be frozen. There would be no money in the account at the time of hearing but I need the acc open so that my pay can go in at the end of oct as our payroll at work need any changes makina t the start of the month

I opened a Co-op account a week or so before I declared BR and didn't use the account at all so didn't put it on the SOA.

On the same day that I was declared BR I spoke to the OR and they asked if I had opened a basic account and I gave them the Co-op details. The account wasn't frozen and there was never any question about me being dishonest by not putting the Co-op details on the SOA so this is what I would recommend.

If you do decide to put the Co-op account details on the SOA then there is a chance that it will be frozen for a few days so you would need to prepare for this i.e. make sure you withdraw enough money to last a few days, be aware that DDs may not be paid, salary not paid in, etc.
