I am really hoping someone can give me some advice. I am in joint bankruptcy with ex and have had all payment agreements set up etc. The mortgage company have said they will be happy to remove my name from the joint marital home - I left a year ago.

I am in a new relationship and in the future, and if all goes well, my new partner and I would like to move in together. Thing is Im obviously seen as a bad risk, at least till discharged and credit record amended. My new partner has no debt, no credit and no mortgage at present. If we wanted to buy a home, are there any companies that would accept him as the main mortgage holder, but would accept my income as a second input? or am i a no go area full stop. If there are companies with some flexibility who are they? Would we be better renting in the first instance? Like anyone we want to be together, but are trying to find out our options and are both non plussed as to how we can? anyone who can advise, it would be greatly appreciated.

It's not just until you're discharged, & your record will be bad for 6 years. Best bet would be for partner to get a mortgage in his name, but for you to contribute financially.
