Hi,

Just a quick one that worried me a little today.
My wife left me over 2 years ago, we are currently in the middle of divorce proceedings. When she left she took £20,000 equity from our home and had the car etc. She had massive debt problems and sure she still does. Will the OR approach her or involve her? I dont really even want her knowing whats happening to me (BR). She lives in rented accommodation.
Thanks again
Matt

POSSIBLY, if by taking equity from your house it contributed to your insolvency. Did you get any equity?

It was 2 and a half years ago now, she took all the equity from our home and left me. It was from here my troubles started. I let her have everything because she has our daughter, I sold the house lost £3000 on that and eventually got to rent a flat. I know she had terrible debts and took the money for that. I am sure she still is in a financial mess, doesnt have a house, just rents. I dont really want the OR to involve her, we get on ok for the benefit of my little girl who I get to have every weekend. If they start threatening her with taking money she will turn it against me and ultimately I will loose out seeing my little one as often....?
Any thoughts?
Thank you
Matt

It sounds as though you haven't had a consent order stamped re finances so I can't see how the OR could avoid contacting her & demanding half the equity. The only possible way would be to wait until 5 years have passed.
