My wife and I are going BR on 25 November, what I am not sure of is whether my wife will get an IPA. All my wifes "income" is derived from benefits, whilst mine is an employers pension plus benefits. Do they include my pension in my wifes income? or is is it done only on what she actually receives in benefits. Not too sure whether I have worded this correctly or not.
The OR will treat each of your completed I&E forms separately so your pension won't be included your wife's I&E. As her income is solely benefits then she shouldn't be liable for an IPA.
Certain Benefits are included on IPAs such as Statory Sick Pay, Incapacity Benefits, Employment Support Allowance etc so ensure that you outgoings reflect the current situation not what you feel the OR should see
My only income is benefits. Tax credits, child benefit and maintenance. If an IPA will not be put in place, why have I been sent an I&E form to fill out for ED?
