Hi everyone

As you all know I was made bankrupt on Tuesday and I when I got home I had a phone call from the O/R who said she would make a appointment for me on the 9 nov for a telephone chat!!! but I may get called into the office, but has it stands its just a telephone chat for now.

What I want to know is what happens now? what does the O/R talk about?

Getting a little worried about this now and its so far away too. I hope someone can help me please.

Dez

Hi, the OR is basically looking for 4 things,
firstly is if you have any assets including spare income.
secondly is to make sure that all creditors are accounted for
thirdly is to get an explanation of how the debt arose
fourthly is about conduct ie have you done anything you should not have

Hi Dez,

Debtinfo as covered everything off. All I would add is make sure you have a copy of your SOA with you whilst talking to the OR.

Gd luck.

I also kept copies of my bank and credit card statements and loan agreements so I could refer to them when I was talking to the OR.

My advice for the interview would be to answer the OR's questions honestly (I don't for one minute think you wouldn't!), if you don't know something say so, answer the question that you are asked and don't elaborate, and don't feel you need to fill in the silences when the examiner is taking notes.

Good luck for the interview x

Indeed I agree with Skippy about filling in the "silent" moments - do not need to do it - he is not a long lost friend!! Remember that to be on your guard. My first interview was great - very talkative and genuine - new examinter met briefly as will be seen in my post - he did not want to do small talk - he shook my hand and that was really it - now learn to be quiet as my wife says

You are going to be nervous and it is sometimes easy to talk then - do not - be warned - careless talk cost lives in wars (apparently!!)At the end of the day it is good if you can have a rapport - but remember he/she is an officer of the court and has a job to do and they are like police officers - they can smell things!!

Hope it progresses well for you, Richard
