I just got made bankrupt 3 days ago and Im now waiting to hear from the OR. what worries me is that I got into this mess by my own stupidity. I just didnt release how difficult repayments would be and accumulted debt due to retraining as a doctor that cost a fortune. Im concerned that the OR will think I have been reckless and extend my period of BR.Has anyone had this problem?Any ideas how to deal with this? any help would be appreciated

hi and welcome to the forum
if the money spent was towards legitimate training etc it is highly unlikely that the OR will frown upon it.
you wil be automatically discharged after a year unless you are uncooperative with the OR or he thinks there is fraud involved somewhere
the worst you could get is a BRO which doesn't extend the BR 12 months , it only continues the restrictions of being BR ie. no debt over £500 without telling them, not being a director of a Ltd Co etc.
i really wouldn't worry just be honest with the OR.

Don't worry or know that worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubble gum.(Baz Lurman)
RevivaUK helped me through it all i can't recommend them enough!!
