Hi I declared myself BR over two months ago and was wondering what happens to my prepayment meters i have for gas and electricity . In the view that all creditors should be treated equally prior and after BR i was wondering if i should still be paying £6.00 on both my gas abd electric meters each week for debts prior to BR |

no you should not....... they should and probably will eventually get around to resetting their tariffs and the extra you have paid should be applied to your accounts. as far as i know it is actually ilegal for them to take anything off you towards your debt prior to BR once you are BR

Don't worry or know that worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubble gum.(Baz Lurman) RevivaUK helped me through it all i can't recommend them enough!! |

Hi, i have a gas pre-payment meter, which i was paying £6.00 a week off for a bill before bankruptcy. I completely forgot about it on the SOA, as most of the bills are in both mine and my husbands name, but this was just in my name. Anyway after running out of gas one day, i put £6 credit on, and the meter went up to £61!. I found out they had cleared the debt, due to the OR informing them of my bankruptcy. So your meters will be reset soon, as long as the accounts are just in your name. Also if you keep paying the £6, when it does get reset back to when you went bankrupt, you'll have plenty off gas and electric to last for some time!! |
