Hi, just wanted to say my wife and i had our meetings with the OR yesterday. Mine lasted 2 hours and my wife's was an hour and a half and we have to say it was as no way near as bad as you think its going to be. The guy was really friendly and put at us at ease which made it easy going.
In the end he put me on a IPA and told me how much he thought i could afford to pay and said if i agreed to that he would not ask my wife to make any payments. Also he would start the IPA in january so we can get christmas out the way first which i thought was a nice gesture. So i now have 36 payments of £115 to make and it will be all over. Considering the iva company i was with wanted nearly £600 a month i couldnt believe the payments the OR wanted.
So i just want to say to anyone who has a meeting or call with the OR coming up not to worry because its really not that bad. I would say that once the daay at court for the BR is over the worst bit is done and out of the way.

All the best,
Dean

the figures you have quoted just goes to show the huge difference between the income allowances of an IVA and during the 36 months of an IPA through BR

There does seem to be a huge gulf between what you pay in an IPA v an IVA.
Goes some way to explain why BR petitions are increasing.
