Hi All. I went BR in March and received ED in October. I understand that the credit agencies (experian, etc.) should mark my debts as satisfied or show £0 balances. They still show as defaulted and how much is owing. I understand that the creditors should update the imformation but when do they do it? Does the OR tell them I am discharged or do I have to tell them, as they used to ignore my letters and pass me to debt collectors. Can anyone advise how I go about this and try to clean my credit up a little. I know the file still says I was made BR, but every little helps as they say!

It's down to you to advise your creditors and ask them to update your credit file.

If you have a look on my blog there is a template letter that I used to send to my creditors, and details of what you need to do.

Tomorrow is a mystery, yesterday is history, today is the present, a gift to make the most of.

Check as well that your creditors have not sold your debts on. If they have, then you will need to contact the firm that has purchased them.

The glimmer gets brighter all the time
