Hi All,

Well finally yesterday I was discharged (well assume so the insolvency website shows me as discharged but heard nothing at all from OR since August - Is this normal?)

I feel a huge relief considering I was told at my interview I would have to have another and would get a BRO, I have reached my year and did not get either. Just keep worrying myself silly they suddenly will give me a BRO now or call me for another interview. I am not sure if because they were so busy this year (my hubby went bankrupt in May and was given a different office due to workload and then was discharged in October!!)

Anyway, my question is what happens after bankruptcy? I still get letters from time to time mainly statements from Natwest with my old bank account and default notices from others. Do I start writing to my old creditors requesting they close my file as I know should start tidying my credit file. I checked it and it shows default on everything so what do I ask them?

Sorry for long post, has been a really tough year and just so pleased got to the end in one piece :)

well done for the discharge
there is a link to moneysaving expert web site that lists in order the best things to do regarding clearing your credit file up
in a nutshell...
contact your creditors with a copy of your discharge (if you have one) or a copy of the letter from OR or webpage showing discharge
ask them to update their records as settled or partially settled and not default
give them time and if they don't do it there is a process to follow to complain
