i was made bankrupt jan 9th 2009 so just over a month from now it will be the full 12 months, does that mean i shall be automatically discharged or at the 11th hour can they ask for more payslips and bank statements to be fully satisfied?
i haven't had that much contact with the OR, about 7 months in i received a letter saying an early discharge may be possible but i guess my creditors didn't agree as i didnt hear anything else
regards, andy
ps i have had a great year, no desire for any credit cards/loans etc, just happy living a debt free life. pps wife left me in january also - yippee!!!! |

Yes, if you hear nothing between now and Jan 10th you are discharged. Fingers crossed you don't hear!

Hi Andy
some OR's write to you others think about writing to you
can i suggest that you keep visiting the insolvency website, that will be updated sooner than you receiving a letter.
Andy If you are panicing about an 11th hour approach, they do not have many days to contact you, once you have taken off weekends, bank holidays Xmas shut down

If you are automatically discharged you won't receive a letter from the OR. The insolvency register will update to show you as discharged so make sure you print off a copy as most creditors will accept this as proof of discharge.
After 3 months of showing discharged your name will drop off the register completely.
