As a teaching assistant will a banckrupcy affect my job with Surrey County Council

Seems extremely unlikely, but possibly worth a read of the small print of your employment contract to see if their is any mention of bankruptcy.

for how long can bankruptcy stay in my record? can it be lifted when i have my records corrected?

If you have been declared bankrupt, credit reference agencies will obtain this information and it is kept on your file for six years after the date of the bankruptcy order.
