Since being made BR exactly a week ago, I have had 3 letters from different companies offering their services, stating they can get the BR annulled, have it taken off the credit reference agency file and restore my credit rating etc. etc. Obviously these are companies that are praying on the vulnerable, I have done the sensible thing by putting the letters where they belong, the bin! Who are these people, has anyone else experienced these since BR?

Hi

Everyone I have ever come accross in bankruptcy has received letters from these characters. There probably are people out there they can help, but I would have to say to anyone, speak to an Insolvency Professional before contacting any of them. They can only help those who have assets, suffient to pay all debts etc in full, or make a case for a post bankruptcy IVA, both of which can probably better be advised on by an Insolvency Professional.

These guys are only interested if you have a house with more equity than debt.

In reality the people that they are looking for are folk that have been made bankrupt by a creditor ( Amex, HMRC, Council Tax etc ), where there is likley to be significant asset value.

They will be charging substantial fees - many tens of thousands of pounds!

They were barking up the wrong tree with me then - my house has no equity at all.

It went straight in the shredder.
