Now this isn’t being very fair really! In the original post i was picked up for making a comment about not expecting to have a life within BR and in response to that i replied by trying to explain what i meant by that comment! Now i thought that the debate would end there but Melanie thought it would be wise to continue on with the subject! Firstly and I would like to make this point extremely clear, i would never come out with a statement that was false! Why would I do that? Because soon enough I would lose credibility that i may have gained and I have no intention of that happening.
I have within the last two months witnessed Two IVA proposals being accepted one with gym membership and the other with Golf membership, i know this is true because they were clients i put forward to the IP!
As i have stated earlier i really do not see the point in this debate as it is irrelevant to any debt issue that is currently being addressed here!
If possible i would now like this debate to be put to bed because the point really doesn’t warrant the argument! Not only that but the subject matter on here is about helping people and the people who come here for help do not want to be reading pointless debates about difference of opinions.
I really hope this matter is now closed!

Ian

Many thanks for this information Julian.

I should be able to cover the gym membership out of that £180 and I suppose housing my car in a garage for £45 so as to prevent further vandalism will also need to come out of my own allowance, that leaves about £55 for Sky and maybe a little more if I lower my gym membership.

I amunder a 12 month contract for the gym that will not expire till April 2009, I never listed them as a creditor but if I cannot afford to keep up the repayments should I have included them on the SOA?

Hi MST,

Indeed, all unsecured debts should be listed in the SOA. If you get any issues, let them know your BR number and that will normally be enough for them to cancel without further action.

Thanks again Julian.

I spent about 2 hours last night writing out the forms in ink and do not wish to re-visit them again this evening.

If I re-post these allowances on this forum under a new topic would you mind casting your expert eye over them and simply highlighting which would only come out of my own allowance, which could be argued and which are considered reasonable monthly costs?

I fear that my OR will be someone used to living off £20 a week who deems me an exhorbitant spender who must be punished for his lifestyle choices and whilst I am prepared to argue some expenditure I do not want to waste my time on something that I do not stand a hope in hell of being allowed to claim as a monthly expense.

Hi MST,

With the greatest of respect, no. This forum is to give general guidance and advice, and not to prepare your case pro-bono. If you need further guidance, please feel free to contact one of the experts directly.

I will just send them off then. I thought that seeing this is exactly how this thread started I would post mine but never mind.

Hi Mst

I started this thread and maybe I shouldn't have considering all the conflict it has created so if anyone is to blame its me!

I think what Julian is saying is rather than post your allowances on here as I have done, it may be easier for you to contact one of the experts on here privately so you can go through everything otherwise it may create another debate!!

Hello Maizie,

It's perfectly OK. I often type things out which do not equate to what I am thinking! I think I am just being overly fussy with regards to the allowances. The closer I am getting to both court date and OR meeting the more desperate I am becoming. I am sure this is not uncommon amongst the other people on here.

I did try consulting a firm that specialised in bankruptcy but I could not afford the £3000 fees. My Mother has in the past already bailed me out of £14,000 debts and I could not go to her for any more.

Best of luck and do not worry about any arguing from my side :-)

I know the feeling! From what I have been told on here is to put down what you actually spend and see what happens. If you don't put it down you can't do so at a later date which is what I am doing. The OR can only say no.

Good luck too!

Hi Maizie, My OR meeting is on Wednesday and I am too panicking about my expenditure list. I dont have a great social life, I dont go out for meals or nights out etc and I have nothing left after each month so although some of my expenditure looks quite high it is realistic. I'll let you know how I get on, fingers crossed it will be fine. Good luck with yours!
