Posted - 11 August 2008 : 21:19:25 Hi firstly I should say that a lot of creditors threaten bankruptcy but the total cost to a creditor is around £2K so they don't unless they have to.
It's cheaper for them to try with bailiff's first to see what assets you have.
It's not if you work that you have to pay back. It's what you have left over from your income and benefits once all your basic living expenses are covered. At £800 per month as a single parent I would doubt you would pay anything provide you have your own home and not living with parents.
