Posted - 03 February 2010 : 21:11:27 Hi again,
I agree with gettingoutofdebt on speaking to one of the insolvency experts on this forum. I did mention this to you a while ago.
Is your mum in a council run nursing home?
I hope that you can speak to an insolvency expert and get some peace of mind, Richard

Posted - 03 February 2010 : 20:59:40 the council need to see certain stuff ie bank statements,POA,DWP on some things its not a problem but they wont commit themselves to funding her until such things have been seen. if I go through with the bankruptcy on her behalf any bank details wont be able to be used by them. what and who do I have to notify if I open a new account for her under my name? how would it affect me in life not POA status? Im looking at going through with this in the next few weeks?
Cheers

Posted - 29 January 2010 : 06:47:03 If you have the power of attorney then you can petition for your mother's BR on her behalf. You won't be affected by her BR but her bank accounts will be frozen and closed.
Does you mother have any assets at all? What about her future care? Are you planning to look after her or will she need future nursing home assistance?
I can't answer your question regarding the local council but you may want to have a quick chat with one, or both, of the companies below regarding this issue:
Reviva UK: http://www.revivauk.com/ Jones Giles - http://www.jonesgiles.co.uk/
Both companies post on this board and are highly respected. |

So sorry to learn of your problems.
The question is beyond my level, I am afriad.
Suggest Paul from Reviva and Melanise from Jones Giles - they are amongst the very best in England and Wales.Richard
