I am now residing in Australia permanently. Now retired and 62 years old and no assets. Can you please tell me if I am eligible to claim bankruptcy in UK?

in adition to the above should you need / be able to declare bankruptcy in UK.
you have options of returning to The UK and petitioning for BR or obtaining a lasting power of attorney and nominating a thrid party to act on your behalf.
Paul and his team at reviva have an overseas department they may be able assist with LPA have a look at the link below it may help
Posted - 11 March 2010 : 11:12:19 As Skippy mentions it will depend on how long ago you left the UK. If it was less than 3 years ago you should be able to declare BR in the UK, if not then you will need to declare BR in Oz.
