I am seeking help and advice from CAB, we managed to get an appt with them within 2 weeks of requesting, I suppose it depends on the area you live too.

Hi Larry,
from your previous posts, you have a property that you rent out, but don't intend to move back into, so as previously mentioned if there is a tenant in there, the OR will appoint an agent to manage and collect the rent, until either the tenant moves out, or the lender seeks repossession, but you will have to provide the OR with any relevant docs such as a tenancy agreement etc.

As Reviva said CAB can help you to fill the forms in, but they will generally only allow their salaried staff to do that due to it being a sworn statement of affairs, and I believe it can take several weeks to get an appointment with one.

And again there are plenty of experts on here who can help.

Hi

Hope you are well.

There are options for DIY support as here on the forum. There are also companies that will offer help with filling in the bankruptcy forms from around £600 for a couple - Viki can offer this support.

You also have the option of the CAB who can allocate up to around 2 hours for debt advice but you need to fit into their schedule.

Not everyone needs our support and I am usually the first to advise someone if that is the case. Our service is not for everyone and is bespoke to the individual situation, however we only offer one package and that includes:-

Managing creditors prior to bankruptcy - including court representation if required
Working out the Pre Bankruptcy Strategy re House
Preparation of the court forms for Bankruptcy
Attending Court with clients for Br
Preparation for the Official Receivers interview
Attending the OR interview - particularly if self employed
Helping you to minimise any IPA
Dealing with the Beneficial Interest transfer and negotiating with the OR / Trustee on your behalf.
Help and support through the bankruptcy period.
Not a 9 - 5 service

As I have said the Forum will give good adice and pointers and people will be happy to share their experiences with you

take care

Paul

Hi Larry,
I was made bankrupt a few weeks ago and in the weeks before I was very worried and stressed. I finally decided to get some advice and used the National Debt Helpline who are a free charity and provided some great advice. I also used Paul at Reviva UK who posts on this forum who was very highly recommended.
Good luck, the process is nowhere near as bad as I thought it was going to be and was something of an anticlimax to be honest :)
