Posted - 07 September 2010 : 16:44:57 As Tracey has stated bankruptcy does not allow for CSA/Maintenance arrears to be included, therefore you will remain liable for the debt even after filing for bankruptcy.
The only advice I can give you is to contact the CSA direct and appeal the decision or request a full assessment. Any figure set for collection from your income direct should be affordable and based on your income/outgoings (provided you responded to their requests for information) If the assessment was done without your co-operation you will need to get in touch for a full assessment and provide all your details etc (without doing this and fully complying with their requests for info will result in the award standing and it being deducted from your salary.

Posted - 06 September 2010 : 20:21:04 I don't know a great deal about the CSA but I thought that maintenance payments were set according to your income.
Would you be able to cope with the CSA payments if you didn't have your other debts?
