Hi All. I have a question that I cannot find a reply to in the posts.
When I go BR will the court send a bailiff around to my home to see if there is anything of value to sell or will this be done via the forms that I will have to fill out.

Hi Larry,
the days of the OR sending someone round to your house to make an inventory of your belongings are long gone. They will not be interested in your household goods, as they realise that you need to make it habitable. As other replies have stated, they might though question a 50" plasma TV, purchased recently!....not a fridge or freezer.
The tools for your gardening business can be exempt from the proceedings, as they are needed so that you can earn a living

my partner and i went bankrupt in april and the or was really nice. my partner has an old lexus and he let him keep it. they did not come here to see what we had. just be honest with them and you will be fine |

Hi,
The OR is not goung to be interested in your personal effects as you have described.
As Chester and I have said, unless you have deemed to have "wasted" money on luxurious items, you are safe.
The tools are the same to enable you to earn a living.
By all means seek advice from any of the form posters and experts - maybe Reviva if you need hands on experience - details on the left side of the page

as Richard has said so long as you do not have antiques lots of expensive jewelry or an old collection of gold sovereigns then the OR will have no interest in your "household furniture" and personal belongings.
he may however lok at your last 12 months bank and CC statements and enquire if there are any large value purchases on them like a 48" plasma TV.

Hi Larry,
There will be no bailiff sent by the OR.
If you had "Old masters" or anything of great value (an asset) then the OR would be interested... BUT, you probably do not have anything of that value - if you have you may not need to look at BR 
Seriously there are a lot of rumours that the OR will do this and that - the reality, I am pleased to say is they will not be interested in your personal effects and you will probably only have a telephone interview these days or maybe a face to face interview at the ORs office with an investigator/case officer.
Simply tell them the truth...
