Hi
Both my husband and myself have a date for BR 13th jan. I have been putting it of for 2 yeaars as my debts of £25000 and £20000 for my husband were obtained by lying on the application forms 5 years ago (homeowners and woorking when renting and on benefits)I am at the point where I would rather face up to what I have done. If I go to prison and come out and all my debts have gone then i can have a fresh start, but the thing I am worried about is that I come out of prison and still owe the money as they was obtained dishonestly. Two years on (been in a DMP)I once again have cold feet as I feel I may be opening a can of worms that are better kept locked. Should I continue paying the Dmp or take the risk of making things worse, I just do not know what to do, plz advice. If I continue with the DMP it will take the rest of my life to repay my debts.(2040)

Hi Les2258, here is the link to the post that Blackie referred to. I hope that Bigal's post can help put your mind at rest a little.

If you are still worried I would suggest giving any of the professional experts who post on here a call as they will most probably have come across this situation before.

Good luck, and please let us know how you get on x

Only when the last tree has died, the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realise that we cannot eat money.

Last IPA payment made on 28th June 2010 - it's over at last!

Apologies, It is named "lying on a loan application"

Dear Les2258

It is always a daft thing to lie on an application form even if it did occur 5 years ago. There was a thread about this subject on this forum a few days ago and I therefore suggest that you read the thread about loan applications.

Kind regards.
