Hi Everyone,

Hubby and I received our early discharge notice today...as of 18th Jan we are no longer bankrupt, whoop whoop! Hubby still has an IPA until Aug 2013...but I don't..

Any advice if we need to do anything now? We have a cashminder account with the coop and I wondered if we would be able to open a savings account now?

As always any advice is gratefully received..

Many thanks,

Sunshine xxx

That's good news. Not long to go the finish line now.

Finally today it has been updated on the register....another small step to freedom...bring on August 2013 when the IPA will finish...xxx

I have heard in the past that sometimes ED takes a while to update on the register. Keep checking and I'm sure it'll be there soon x

Only when the last tree has died, the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realise that we cannot eat money.

Last IPA payment made on 28th June 2010 - it's over at last!

Have you clicked on your name sunshine? The front page doesn't change, but the entry will be updated to show discharged.

I went on yesterday but it still says bankrupt at the side of our names...I assume it will take a few days for the info to trickle through???? x
Niobe Posted - 25 January 2011 : 10:23:49
It's been up and running for a few weeks now. There was a glitch with some of the information on there but that has apparantly been sorted.

The insolvency register is back up so you should be able to print off the discharge information now x

Hi Sunshine congrats to you both

when the insolvency register is eventually upgraded dont forget to print off a number of copies as it will only stay on register for 3 months.

most of your creditors will accept this computer print out

It might be worth opening a savings account elsewhere as the Co-op will credit check you for a savings account. I opened one with Yorkshire Building Society without any problems.

When you are updating your credit files make sure you also check the report from Callcredit as well.

Thanks guys,

Yes it feels great to be on the road to financial recovery!

Paul the e book would be fab thank you very much....I have checked the insolvency register yesterday but it hadn't been updated as yet.

Is it best to get everything in place before I tackle the coop about opening another account?

As always this forum is a wonderful support, don't know what we would have done without it over the last few months.
