Hi Everyone,
Hubby and I received our early discharge notice today...as of 18th Jan we are no longer bankrupt, whoop whoop! Hubby still has an IPA until Aug 2013...but I don't..
Any advice if we need to do anything now? We have a cashminder account with the coop and I wondered if we would be able to open a savings account now?
As always any advice is gratefully received..
Many thanks,

Congratulations!
Good luck trying to open a savings account with the Co-op - I had to appeal before they would let me open one!
You can start the process of cleaning your credit files - have a look at this link:

Only when the last tree has died, the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realise that we cannot eat money.

Hi
in late february it is worth getting your credit files ( Experian & Equifax ) to make sure the discharge is properly logged.
you can then make sure your credit file correctly reflects your position now.
That is the first step to improiving your credit history.
I have a free ebook detailing what you need to do if you would like a copy.

Thanks guys,
Yes it feels great to be on the road to financial recovery!
Paul the e book would be fab thank you very much....I have checked the insolvency register yesterday but it hadn't been updated as yet.
Is it best to get everything in place before I tackle the coop about opening another account?
As always this forum is a wonderful support, don't know what we would have done without it over the last few months.

It might be worth opening a savings account elsewhere as the Co-op will credit check you for a savings account. I opened one with Yorkshire Building Society without any problems.
When you are updating your credit files make sure you also check the report from Callcredit as well.

Hi Sunshine congrats to you both
when the insolvency register is eventually upgraded dont forget to print off a number of copies as it will only stay on register for 3 months.
most of your creditors will accept this computer print out

The insolvency register is back up so you should be able to print off the discharge information now x

It's been up and running for a few weeks now. There was a glitch with some of the information on there but that has apparantly been sorted.

Have you clicked on your name sunshine? The front page doesn't change, but the entry will be updated to show discharged.
