Posted - 29 January 2011 : 09:54:25 Hi
To my mind, the Co-op Cashminder is good. The Bank are BR friendly.
They are VERY strict on how you run the account - three strikes and you are out!!
They are good for insurances too and when a claim is made they are fast to deal.
Good luck

They don't like BR or IVA and will close the account.
Buckle your seat belt Dorothy, 'cos Kansas is going bye bye.

Posted - 27 January 2011 : 09:58:23 Hi Lindsey.dy
We followed the advice given on here & opened a co-op cashminder account BEFORE declaring BR. We found it easier to go into our local branch & talk face to face as we were not sure if applying by call centre would be as productive. We explained, fully, our situation to the gentleman at the co-op & our application was approved there & then. They could not have been nicer & not at all judgemental.
We then transfered any essential S/O', or D/D's & arranged to have wages paid in. Once we went BR the account was left open by the OR which made things so much easier at such a stressful time. Hope things run smoothly for you & welcome to this Fab' Forum

Posted - 26 January 2011 : 22:53:26 Nationwide have changed their procedures and won't allow anyone who is BR to open an account with them unfortunately. The Co-op or Barclays are your best bet as they are consistently 'BR friendly'.
