Posted - 09 February 2011 : 11:49:12 Since been made bankrupt (3 months to automatic discharge)I have been on Jobseekers allowance, however due to ill health i may not be able to continue claiming (whether or not my DR will sign me off sick or not) - I Live with my mother currently so wont't starve! However my question is this (I dont Pay an IPA/IPO) am i OBLIGED to claim benefit I will probably still be able to look for work although not quite as intensly as i am at the moment

Benefits system is an option available to support you when challenging circumstances arise.
The system is aimed at getting you off claiming benefits and back into working society.
no you are not obliged to claim
good luck with hunting a job, which is appropriate to your circumstances.
