As of 4th April 2011 the cost of a certificate of discharge from the courts will rise to £70.

Only when the last tree has died, the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realise that we cannot eat money.

Last IPA payment made on 28th June 2010 - it's over at last!

How bad is that! I'd be wanting them to replace said certificate - not your fault if they've managed to shred the document!

Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn, and cauldron bubble.

Exactly! I didn't as I'm far too tight!

Also worth remembering - some creditors want the original but don't send it back! I read a while back that someone had sent their certificate of discharge to Sainsburys and phoned up to ask when they would get it back, only to be told that it wasn't their policy and it had been shredded.

This may have changed, but I would definitely ask what a company's policy was before I sent the original certificate to them.

Disgusting that you have to pay that for a piece of paper!
