Posted - 23 August 2011 : 10:40:13 Its been two weeks since my discharge and its starting to sink in ! Thing is what do I do now? I haven’t looked at my credit rating for over 2 years as there was little point....but now I’m discharged should I do anything? Will all my debts be cleared or do I have to tell the credit agencies? Any advice would be welcome. |

Only when the last tree has died, the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realise that we cannot eat money.
Last IPA payment made on 28th June 2010 and I'm now looking forward to getting married in September 2012 - I'm proof that you can go BR and come out the other side. |

Posted - 24 August 2011 : 10:20:15 Hello I have three days to go now before my A.D.
I was planning on sending the standard letters to all of my creditors next week to start the process of clearing up my credit report. I understand that the defaults will show on my credit report for the next 6years but is there anything stopping me from doing this sooner rather than later? My thinking is to get it sorted asap then over the next few years I can slowly start to repair it.
Thank you

Posted - 24 August 2011 : 09:13:38 Yes I have printed off a copy of my discharge notice thanks.....but regarding my credit file it would appear that if my debts are not marked as satisfied or cleared then it could take longer than 6 years to clear my bad credit history. |

Posted - 23 August 2011 : 17:25:03 I would take your time doing it though - the BR will show for six years so you've plenty of time to sort out any defaults.
Have you printed out a copy of the fact that you are discharged from the Insolvency Register?
