Posted - 06 September 2011 : 19:46:45 Hello I was discharged from bankruptcy in May 2009 after 6 months. Declared myself. For bank loan and credit card. Re finance questions for security vetting. Do I answer YES OR NO to the following questions: Thank you Angie
Have you had a loan arrangement terminated by a bank/building society/finance house?
Have you had a credit/charge card withdrawn?
Are you in arrears with any existing loan/mortgage/hire purchase agreement?

Posted - 09 September 2011 : 19:59:19 Be totally honest about your BR. You may find that they will want to talk to you about it further. I work for a Midlands Police force and I know this is what happens there.

Posted - 09 September 2011 : 19:58:59 Nowdays bankruptcy is not a bar to the police (it used to be), given how detailed the questions are i think that it is more to do with making sure that everything is out in the open so that nothing can be used against you in future |

Posted - 08 September 2011 : 22:12:32 Why do they want to know all this? More further questions:
Have your had any Court action taken against you for any debt?
Have you been party to a voluntary agreement registered with the County Court?
Has a County Court / Tribunal Judgement been made against you?
If YES, has this been cleared? *
Have you had repossession proceedings commenced against you?
I take it I can answer NO to all the above and YES to those below.
Have you ever been registered bankrupt?
If YES, have your bankruptcy debts been discharged? *
Thanks ever so everyone! |

Posted - 07 September 2011 : 21:58:23 its really a decision for you to make, you could perhaps argue that technicaly the question does not cover you on that one but the first one seems to have a past tense implication but the intent of the question seems fairly clear |

Posted - 07 September 2011 : 21:48:27 Are you in arrears with any existing loan/mortgage/hire purchase agreement?
Is this particular question not PAST TENSE (after bankruptcy). Should I answer NO to this one?? If they have been written off through bankruptcy do they still exist?? [existing]?? Many thanks Angie |

Posted - 06 September 2011 : 22:37:01 I would think that you would have to answer yes as your loans/cards etc will have been terminated due to the BR and you will, at some point, have been in arrears with loan agreements.
