Hello, I'm a newbie so please forgive me if I'm not on correct part of Forum
My husband & I are both saving to go bankrupt, total is £1,400 for us both. We don't qualify for benefits and we have only my husbands wage come in, we have 3 children, I'm a stay at home mum.
Could anyone advise if there are any charities/companies out there that can give financial assistance for Bankruptcy Fees? We stopped paying creditors in order to save (professional advice) and we have lived Frugaly for many years, nothing left to sell. We are saving every penny, but it is very difficult. I beleive some utilitiy companies help, we are with e-on is this one of them?
Any hepl/advice would be realy apreciated. Thank You. |

glafy, thank you very much for your help and advice
I will do a search and see if there is anything we can apply for. The latest information you gave me was very helpful, though we do have a mortgage and we will be loosing this to the bankruptcy, so we may not qualify on that one.
But I will look into every possibility.

Hi Sky1963 & welcome to the forum.
You're correct that some Utility companies do help towards BR fees although it sometimes it isn't easy finding them!!
Type "help with Bankruptcy fees" in your search engine & you should be able to find some information. Make sure you do this before BR as none will do it retrospectively.
We applied to United Utilities after BR & were told it was too late but they then sent us a cheque for the amount we owed to them when we went BR which was much appreciated. 
When you get on to the utility companies websites look for the Welfare section. Most of them have this information on that page.
AS your husband is employed, is he a member of a Union as they could have a welfare fund to assist towards things like BR
