Posted - 27 September 2011 : 13:18:41 Although you have received your discharge, your bankruptcy will still show for 6 years from the date of the bankruptcy on your individual credit file - if your were requesting and ordingary account the credit search would show up the bankrupcy which may then lead to you being declined. You need to request a 'basic account' such as the Nat West 'Step' account or Co-Op 'Cash Minder' account
