I own a home in Spain and I'm upside down on my mortage. I have moved back to the UK and I'm living in rental accommodation. I have been trying to seel/rent the house in Spain for two years and have been unable to sell. I can no longer afford the mortgage payments. I do not have a job. Can I declare myself bankrupt and hand the house in Spain over to the bank? |

I agree with Viki that you should speak to an expert for some free advice.

The guy in front of me this morning was a solicitor and had only lived in the UK 2 months.. He was declared bankrupt same time as me.
Just wanted to say! :)
::edit:: although he may have just fired himself according to the government website :/ |

how long have you been back living in the UK and is there any equity in the property in spain, do you have any other assets or debts |
