Posted - 15 July 2012 : 14:38:37 re social network sites: I know that the OR can look at your facebook and presumably twitter, but can/does it also look at things like instagram or other photo sharing sites? Also, if I have my privacy settings set to only friends or private, van it still see everything I post? I'm not hiding anything, but just windered how much privacy I have..or not. |

I do pick up the odd George pair of jeans from the cancer research shop. Oops, shouldn't have said that!

Posted - 18 July 2012 : 16:13:39 Thank goodness I didn't post my pics of my round the world trip last month in that case. Only kidding Mr OR! I should be so lucky. Haven't had a holiday since 2004 and I have no intention of putting pics of my clapped out old banger of a car on my facebook pics. Then again, there was that nice new shirt I bought from Primark a week ago....!

Posted - 18 July 2012 : 14:23:50 Tracey, most of mine are of me, very photogenic too ;-) ha ha
Satal, as I said before, you've more chance (if you won a reasonable amount on the lotto etc, and bought that shiny car) of a third party informing the OR.

Posted - 18 July 2012 : 12:55:51 They could have a look at mine as well - most of them are of my cat and I'm sure they'd agree he's very photogenic!

Posted - 18 July 2012 : 12:52:26 I can't see them looking at everything unless they are suspicious of something.
They'd be welcome to look at my pictures - they wouldn't like what they saw though - I'm not a pretty sight!!

Posted - 18 July 2012 : 12:43:48 Thanks for your answers. I'm sure they have better things to do than read every post, but I was under the impression they look for things that show you are cheating..like a pic of a shiny new car or whatever (chance would be a fine thing!), so maybe are more likely to look at your pics than anything.

Posted - 18 July 2012 : 12:34:50 I can't see them being interested in someone's FB page, but if the OR has any suspicions about a person's honesty then I can see exactly why they would be interested in what they put on FB!
The moral is if you don't want anyone to know about something then don't post it on FB, Twitter or any other social network site.

Posted - 18 July 2012 : 12:28:03 I agree - why would the OR/Trustee be interested in looking at FB pages. And, as you say, Xmas Baby, bankruptcy is stressful enough anyway. I certainly haven't put anything about it on my account - in fact, most of the people I know personally don't have any idea about it, as I feel too embarrassed and ashamed to say anything. As it is, some of the few people that do know seem to have adopted a different attitude towards me, so I'd probably end up with no FB account anyway!

Posted - 18 July 2012 : 12:14:08 I also don't think they would bother with a normal facebook page. I certainly would not be wanting to trawl through everyones pages if I was an OR!!

Posted - 18 July 2012 : 11:13:25 I wouldn't have thought they'd bother in day to day dealings.
The amount of superfluous stuff on there would seem a waste of their time.

Posted - 18 July 2012 : 10:27:06 Well I was completely unaware the OR could have access to your facebook page. Although I have nothing to hide, I do think that is an infringement of your privacy. Like there aren't enough downsides involved in bankruptcy as it is without this one too.
