I eventually spoke to the solicitors (Trustees had obviously contacted them). I have also spoken with the Estate Agents, who have also been good enough to liaise with the Trustees/Solicitors and I am waiting for confirmation that we can remain in the property at least until after the New Year. Obviously, the logistics of the particular 14-day time-frame are not practical. Apparently, it seems that the Trustees want to take over the management of the sale of the property, but no-one – not even the Agents – can make sense of the fact that they want us out of the property. The property, unfortunately, needs quite a lot doing to it (lack of funds dictates!!) and by leaving it empty, especially at this time of year, is totally insane – I don’t believe it will sell any quicker just because I’m not there. Regrettably, too, the particular part of the country in which we live is a very depressed area and so, of course, it does reflect on the property market as a whole. The Trustees have not instructed alternative Agents – well, not so far as I am aware. Because my husband was not made BR, he is considering challenging this action – we have already sought some legal advice on this. Sorry for the long diatribe, but if anyone can give us a valid reason as to why the Trustees want to throw us out of our house (there is a mortgage on it which is not in arrears but would be if we weren’t living in it), I would much appreciate it.
