Posted - 14 September 2008 : 22:44:11 Thanks to everyone who has replied to all postings we are seeking advice also from CAB tomorrow this is also so new to us and so very scary, my husband abnd I bought our own flat four years ago and saved really hard but with me losing my job through mental health issues and work things have justgone from bad to worse. We have worked so hard, like many of you i guess and now it's crumbling down. I stumbled on this website out of sheer desparation for info. No the BR is done same day, you make an appt at your local court, some do a first come first served basis some you make an appt to go. You take an SoA Statement of affairs, this is the form you need to fill out stating all assets, debts, income etc along to the court with the fee which is £495 this can be reduced if your on certain benefits, the court can send you a form to fill in to get any rebate that you may be entitled too. No the OR do not come to your home, no one does, the OR is appointed the same day as your court hearing and then you will be asked to attend either a face to face interview or a telephone interview usually within 2 weeks but this could be longer or shorter depending on the work load of the OR and also the complexities of your case.
