Hi Everyone,

As the title says, I am now officially BR. I feel numb, not elated quite strangely. Has anyone else felt like this?

I would just like to tell everyone about the Court experience and to say that it is EXACTLY as everyone on here has described with absolutely nothing to fear. Our appointment was for 10.00 and 10.15 respectively and we got there about 9.45 which was a good job because some of the paperwork needed adjusting. A note for those of you completing paperwork at the moment - if you are not sure of the date you originally got a loan or CC just put an approximate year rather than Not Known.

We then went to pay the fees and swear the forms etc which took quite a while. Then went down to see the Judge and went in immediately. By this time, I was getting a bit tearful. She was really lovely, asked us a couple of questions, ie have we been bankrupt before, and then said "Well, I will now proceed with the Order". Two minutes - simple as that. She then said "Ok, that's all done, you can go now". I then thanked her and said "It's not my proudest moment" and she said "Well, we all have to start somewhere" - which started me off and tears welled up!!

For those of you who have impending Court dates for BR, please do not worry. You are not the first and you certainly won't be the last. The Court staff are not judgemental at all and the Judge is nothing to fear (if indeed you have to see one at all). A lot of my fear about the Court was taken away by reading everyone's experience of how they got on so I hope mine helps someone as well!

I haven't had a chance to look through some posts yet but I hope moneyworries had a good experience today and can't wait to hear all about it.

Just waiting for the call from the OR now, which was a guideline said they would contact within 3 hours!!

We then had to wait for the Petition to be typed up and we left the court at 12.30.
