Your partner (or someone else) could buy the car at full value, which would enable you to keep the car.

Tomorrow is a mystery, yesterday is history, today is the present, a gift to make the most of.

car is all mine and its only me going br but partner does use it too and is on insurance etc. would hate to lose it. think i read that i cant transfer it into his name anyway though as this would be checked etc. so would i just not be allowed a car for a year or 3 years? that wouldnt be good.

i think i read somewhere you can pay a sum to the court to keep it if that was the case- how does that usually work?

thanks for advice

If you don't need the car for work there's a good chance the OR won't exempt it. The criteria is that you have to NEED a car for work purposes rather than choose to use one for convenience.

Although I only worked 5 miles away from home when I went BR I was able to keep my car as I couldn't get to work on time using public transport, I've had to visit customers in the past, and I could be expected to work unsociable hours as I work for a multi national company.

Hi Rochelle
Not entirely sure about this. If you don't need a car for work the OR may well want it but if your hubby needs it to get to work then it might be okay. Is the car in your name or your hubby's and is it just you going BR or your hubby as well?
