Next we had to go somewhere else to pay our fees and to swear our affidavits. It was all very straight forward and the people were professional. Next we were sent to another floor to wait to see the Judge. I was very nervous before we went in as I thought he might tell us off for having so much debt. I needn't have worried as he was very nice. He said that he didn't see any other way forward for us but to go bankrupt and declared it straight away. He was very nice and even pleasant when my 2 year old (who I had to bring with us) started to get kranky. We were only in there for about 5 minutes. A woman typed up the order for us, gave us our copies then we were on our way. Everyone was very nice and not once did I feel like people were looking their noses down at us. We have spoken to the OR today and she seemed pleasant enough also. So all in all it was not such a bad experience. Thank you to everyone who has answered all my questions over the past few months.
