Posted - 23 December 2008 : 00:25:59 Dear Sirs, Is it true that it's still possible to have bank account whilst being Bankrupt? Also apart from credit are there any other limitations to bankruptcy? I ask this as i am looking at what choices i have though it is not absolutely necessary to file for Bankruptcy yet or at all.
Thank you Kind Regards, Steven Trehan

Yes, once BR, you can get a basic bank account. The most popular choice seems to be the Co-Op Cashminder account.
Whilst undischarged, you cannot be a director of a limited company, hold public office or get credit for more than £500 without DISCLOSING the fact you are an undischarged bankrupt. There are more restrictions which can be found in the information centre/insolvency service website.
