Posted - 16 January 2009 : 14:33:14 The won't touch the bank a/c if it is in his name solely. However, there are a lot of issues if you go bankrupt as regards income and expenditure and they will ask what your other half contributes to the household budget. Also if he jointly owns any assets, such as a house, this will be affected.

if the account is in his sole name and he is not declaring bankruptcy the account will remain unaffected.
