Posted - 06 February 2009 : 14:55:56 Hi
My mom as just tried to open a current bank account with the co op bank and it as been rejected.
Although I went bankrupt in October 08 my mom is not in any debt and and has is not late with any payments etc.
The only thing I can think of is that me and my mom had a joint bank account prior to my bankrupcty which was closed, could that be the reason why her application has been rejected.
Why should my mom be penalised for not being in debt.
What should I do?

Posted - 06 February 2009 : 14:59:22 Hiya,
Maybe you need to contact Experian etc to request that you and your mum are disassociated on their files as I'm guessing that you are currentley linked due to the old joint account - hence the refusal for credit...
Hope this helps and that you get a few more posts in reply.
Cheers
Tim
