Posted - 13 May 2009 : 21:01:31 hi there My hubby applied after declaring BR and was refused with no explanation. We obtained his credit file to make sure there was no CIFAS warnings then I just wrote a letter asking for a person(not compuer) to look again at the application and 2 weeks later he had letter with account number etc and card, didnt even need to show ID despite not being on electorol roll. So I would advise anyone refused to write and ask for the application to be looked at again. Regards

Posted - 13 May 2009 : 12:49:08 Hiya,
I wasn't accepted straight away, I needed to take some photo ID into my local branch. When I asked if I would get the account after this, they told me over the phone the only way I wouldn't is if my details didn't match up or I wasn't on the voting roll.
Hope that helps.

Posted - 13 May 2009 : 10:37:29 My account was referred when I tried to open one over the phone. About 5 days later I received a letter saying that I needed to provide more information so I needed to take my driving licence or passport to a local branch so they could verify who I was. I assumed that this was due to me not being on the electoral register and my address. If you can't pop into a local branch you can also send copies of the documentation required however these forms will need to be witnessed.
