My account was referred when I tried to open one over the phone. About 5 days later I received a letter saying that I needed to provide more information so I needed to take my driving licence or passport to a local branch so they could verify who I was. I assumed that this was due to me not being on the electoral register and my address. If you can't pop into a local branch you can also send copies of the documentation required however these forms will need to be witnessed.

Hiya,

I wasn't accepted straight away, I needed to take some photo ID into my local branch. When I asked if I would get the account after this, they told me over the phone the only way I wouldn't is if my details didn't match up or I wasn't on the voting roll.

Hope that helps.

hi there
My hubby applied after declaring BR and was refused with no explanation. We obtained his credit file to make sure there was no CIFAS warnings then I just wrote a letter asking for a person(not compuer) to look again at the application and 2 weeks later he had letter with account number etc and card, didnt even need to show ID despite not being on electorol roll. So I would advise anyone refused to write and ask for the application to be looked at again.
Regards
